Copyright & Licensing
JQPP distinguishes between the author's copyright in an article and the journal's rights to publish, preserve, and present that article as part of the JQPP record.
Author copyright
Authors retain copyright in accepted articles unless a different arrangement is expressly agreed. Submission alone does not transfer copyright to JQPP.
Publication license
JQPP's default article license is Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Under CC BY 4.0, others may share and adapt the published article, including commercially, provided appropriate attribution is given and the license terms are followed.
Permission to publish
For an accepted article, authors authorize JQPP to host, display, reproduce, preserve, index, and distribute the article and its metadata as needed to operate the journal and maintain the publication record.
Third-party material
The article's open license applies only to material that the author has the right to license. Authors must identify third-party material that is excluded from the article's CC license or subject to separate permission or terms.
Journal website and branding
The JQPP name, logo or wordmark, site design, navigation, policy text, and journal-owned administrative content are not automatically licensed under the article's CC BY 4.0 license.
License record
The applicable license is displayed on each published article page. If a future article uses a different license, the article-specific record controls for that article.
