For Authors
JQPP publishes applied research and professional scholarship from practitioners, industry professionals, graduate students, independent researchers, and authors with institutional affiliations. An academic affiliation is not required.
Article types
- Applied Research Article — evidence-based analysis addressing a defined practical or institutional question.
- Professional Practice Article — structured analysis derived from professional practice, implementation, or operational experience.
- Case Study — a documented case with transferable observations, methods, or lessons.
- Research or Technical Note — a concise contribution focused on a method, model, dataset, technical issue, or early finding.
Basic manuscript expectations
- A clearly defined question, problem, case, method, or professional contribution
- Claims supported by evidence appropriate to the article type
- Traceable and accurate references
- Material limitations stated rather than concealed
- Complete authorship, conflict, funding, ethics, AI-use, and data-availability declarations where applicable
- Clear English suitable for a public professional and scholarly record
Length and format
Typical manuscripts are approximately 1,500–7,000 words. Longer or shorter work may be considered when justified by the content. The publication file is a final PDF accompanied by structured article metadata.
Preprints and prior dissemination
JQPP permits manuscripts that have previously appeared as preprints or working papers, including on SSRN. Authors must disclose the prior version and provide its URL or DOI where available. A manuscript should not be under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
A work that has already been formally published as a journal article is different from a preprint. Republishing substantially the same article requires appropriate rights, full disclosure, and prior editorial agreement.
Submission model
During the initial publication phase, JQPP uses an invitation-based submission process. An invitation does not guarantee acceptance. Invited authors receive a private submission URL and complete a structured submission record rather than emailing a manuscript attachment to a generic inbox.
Fees
Submission is free. A single publication fee applies to all accepted article types: US$300 for international billing or ¥39,800 (tax included) for Japan domestic billing. The fee is requested only after editorial acceptance and has no role in the acceptance decision.
Copyright and access
Authors retain copyright. JQPP's default publication license is CC BY 4.0. Published articles are freely accessible from the journal site.
Editorial review
JQPP is editorially reviewed and does not describe its standard process as external peer review. Decisions are based on the published editorial standard and may be accept, revise, or reject.
