About JQPP
Japan Quarterly of Professional Practice (JQPP) is a new independent, Japan-based, open-access journal for applied research, professional analysis, case-based work, and concise evidence-based scholarship.
Why JQPP exists
JQPP is intended for work that sits between conventional academic publishing and ordinary professional commentary: rigorous enough to be publicly examined, citable, and preserved as a publication record, while remaining relevant to practice, implementation, institutions, and professional decision-making.

Submissions do not need to concern Japan. Japan is the journal's publication base, not a subject-matter restriction.
Who may publish
JQPP considers work from practitioners, industry professionals, graduate students, independent researchers, and authors with academic or institutional affiliations. An academic affiliation is not required.
Ownership and editorial responsibility
JQPP is independently operated and published by Japan Professional Press in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. It is not presented as affiliated with a university, scholarly society, or government agency. Editorial responsibility is shared by the JQPP editorial team. Johnny Kao is one of the editors and is responsible for editorial assessment, publication-policy oversight, and journal operations.

Editorial model
JQPP is editorially reviewed. It does not claim that its standard process is external peer review. Manuscripts are assessed against a published standard covering contribution, traceable reasoning, evidence, source integrity, transparency, originality, and publication readiness.

Independence from payment
Submission is free. The planned publication fee is charged only after acceptance. Payment is not considered when deciding whether a manuscript is accepted.

Because JQPP is a new journal, it deliberately distinguishes between what already exists and what may be added later. Current credential, infrastructure, review, and fee status is maintained on the Transparency & Current Status page.
